Piombino
Piombino is part of the province of Livorno. The city is developing on the promontory, separated from Elba by Channel Piombino. The city is the capital of the Val di Cornia, and has thus made important by the numerous deposits of ferrous minerals, which gave the boot to a rapid development of metallurgical activities that have been carrying forward the Corsican the millennia. The territory consists of major industrial sites, such as steelworks Piombino, industries and metalworking. The Port of Piombino is the main point of embarkation to get to the island of Elba, piers to Sardinia and the smaller islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
